Zarina Hashmi: Celebrating a Pioneering Indian-American Artist on Her 86th Birthday

  Zarina Hashmi, a trailblazing artist whose influence continues to reverberate across the international art scene, is being honored on what would have been her 86th birthday. Google has joined the tribute, dedicating today's Google Doodle to her life and work. Born in Aligarh, India, in 1937, Hashmi’s creative journey was shaped by experiences of home, displacement, and transnational belonging, all of which informed her unique approach to sculpture, drawing, and printmaking.
