Eminem's Surprise Appearance at Ed Sheeran's Detroit Concert Electrifies Crowd

When you think of a regular Ed Sheeran concert in Detroit, you expect an energetic crowd singing along to chart-topping hits like "Shape of You" and "Perfect." But on this fateful Saturday night, fans got more than they bargained for - a surprise guest appearance from Detroit's own, Eminem.

As captured in videos posted on Sheeran's Instagram, the crowd erupted in cheers as the globally-renowned rapper joined the British singer on stage for an electrifying rendition of the iconic "Lose Yourself." Sheeran initially set up the surprise by teasing a 'cover' of an Eminem song, only for the Rap God himself to step onto the stage and join in from the second verse.

"Detroit. What a moment," Sheeran succinctly captured the electricity of the evening in his Instagram caption.

Footage from concert attendees circulating on social media showed Sheeran playfully challenging Eminem's initial plan to perform just one song. He addressed the crowd, "you can't come on in Detroit and do just one song." The response? A resounding demand for more.

Answering the crowd's wishes, the pair delved into Eminem's hit song "Stan," with Sheeran taking on Dido's part during the chorus. This isn't the first time the two have performed "Stan" together. They teamed up in November for the same song during Eminem's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The love between the rapper and his city was palpable as Eminem expressed his feelings post-performance. "Detroit, I missed you," he called out to the exuberant crowd. "I appreciate you, Detroit. I love you!"

Eminem and Sheeran's artistic relationship isn't new. Sheeran has featured on Eminem tracks like "River" and "Those Kinda Nights," and Eminem, along with 50 Cent, appeared on Sheeran's "Remember The Name."

This electrifying surprise comes amidst Sheeran's ongoing US tour, which will wrap up in Los Angeles this September. This unexpected collaboration between the two music legends truly created a magical moment for the fans, making this concert a standout in Sheeran's 'Subtract' album tour.
